Last Orders please

17/12/2012

Okay guys, already  mentioned this on Facebook, but the books are now closed for postal order. I know the last post isn't until Friday but I didn't want to take the chance because I can't promise the dolls will be there in time for Christmas.
I am however keeping the books open for local orders until 4pm on Tuesday 18th December...the catch is I only have two spaces left so it will be first come first served.

Just want to say as well a huge massive THANK YOU!!! to everyone who has helped start the ball rolling with Pretty Darn Perfect, to all the lovely people I have met at the craft fairs, to the wonderful organisers of these events, to my customers and last but not least my long suffering partner who has spent the last year living in a scene from a horror movie. All the doll parts turning up in random places, the mountain of fabric that appears every so often...not to mention the hundreds of threads he has to pick off his work uniform and clothes because of me. He has a tough life doesn't he?

Working on new creations for 2013, I am going to kick start next year with some weird and wonderful creations. Even designing a 'new look' for my stall.
Not giving anything away just yet. Next year is going to be THE year for Pretty Darn Perfect and it's going to be the best.

I know. I keep saying 'oh this is my last one' and then book in for another. I can't help it. I love the wee craft fairs.
On another note got another two angels in the making for this fair, this is defo going to be my last one as I will need to change the dolls on my stand for next years 8 fairs...booked so far.
Good news is I am getting quicker at making them. The bad news is that I am running out of space in the flat, I thought becoming a cat lady was a bad thing...nope being 27 and surrounded by little dolls apparently is so much worse.

Anyway the doll above is 'Mia' and she was a commission. I have two more finished and their pics will follow soon as well. Considering opening my books again for another couple of Christmas orders, that's including people that wanted kept on reserve if any spaces became available. So If you see this I will be in contact with you in the next few days :0)

Better get back to work...still need to finish my logo and get signs, bags, stickers etc...once my logo is finished that is...it never ends. Good thing really I enjoy it too.

First ever all day fair!!

6/12/2012

Well it was a very long day but it was great. The hall was filled with beautiful stalls and plenty of chat. I got my beautiful bracelets made by 'Hidden Gems in Fife' and she even made me a pair of earrings with the two spare buttons. Oh yeah I had the bracelets made from the buttons my Uncle wore when he was in the Navy, it means the world to me that I have them.
I made an angel (pics up soon) to get in the festive spirit, didn't even have her 24 hours and she was sold. Very happy with the outcome of today.
I can't think what to type I'm shattered lol.
Will update more hopefully at the weekend...once the flat is tidy as well as the mini workshop and all the Christmas decorations are finally up...more than likely the update will be round about this time next week.

Sew Far Sew Good

Third craft fair passed and it has went really well. I sold two dolls...well a doll and a mermaid. Which brings my total to five dolls sold over the space of three craft fairs, which is awesome.  Really need to get my skates on and get a few more made up before my first ever all day event on the 5th of December. Really excited about this one, this is the big push for my wee hobby/business venture.
I am fully aware that I am rambling on but I have been slowly trying to get this off the ground for the last year. It needs to be said that I didn't have a lot of faith in it to begin with, my family were always over the moon with the things I made through out my years at college and I just thought they were being biased because they are my family. Until I made one just to see how long it would take and that was it, 13 months later and I am selling at craft fairs and have 8 booked for next year (see Events page).
The only problem with next year is when do I stop craft fairs to keep time for the whole getting married scenario...still can't believe I am actually getting married. I'm booked right up until June...might try and squeeze one more in before August...maybe 2 more. I can see me doing one the day before I get married. My mother would kill me though which might stub the flow of creativity for a while. Speaking of the flow of creativity I better get back to work or it will be a 2 doll stand on Wednesday.
